Obama speaks out

Alone against the world. Isolated and facing a global outcry that will eventually wear him down, Trump already has his predecessor questioning him during the storm. It is not unprecedented. Former presidents have criticised their successors, but caution usually leads the outgoing president to keep quiet. So why has Obama spoken out while still on holiday? One, because he could not remain silent on the migration ban and two, his words will mobilise communities and minorities to help preserve a legacy that cost him many a white hair and is in danger given the new resident at the White House. Let's also not forget that the Republicans are increasingly divided on the new president's suitability for office.
