POINT MADE
Trump's forgotten Americans
White House candidates usually close their conventions with a speech filled with metaphors and optimism about the country's future. Not so Donald Trump. The similarities of his acceptance speech in Cleveland with Nixon's of 1968 were expected, with reference to the forgotten Americans and promises of law and order to stir up the whites hit by the crisis. Trump tiptoed around party ideologies such as abortion and pointed his finger at those he falsely accuses of being to blame for everything (immigrants). Now the show of Republican disunity is over, today the Democrats begin their convention, with a luxury cast of the Obamas, Bill Clinton and Bernie Sanders to enthrone Hillary. Anyone for popcorn?
